In a rocky hollow, on a limestone slope of the gorge, the skilful hand of the “Painter of Flowers in Matera,” he painted the Old and New Testament scenes in a cycle of frescoes dating from the ninth century. A.D.

After having been used for long time as shelters for shepherds and their flocks, the place has been restored for cultural enjoyment thanks to the restoration achieved in respect for the originality of the paintings and lighting devices that are allowed to structure a measured reading of the cycle, giving even more valuable.
